Science activity: butter in a jar for K-6

Children will experience how to make butter and buttermilk by shaking cream and salt in a jar. They will also get to see the whipped cream stage.

This ready-to-use kit contains:

Instructions and experiment sheet so you can lead the science activity with children.
Record sheet for children for hands-on learning.
Suggestions for more fun and learning after the experiment.

This science activity will:

Help kids find their inner scientist! They will get a basic understanding of the science behind butter.
Connect science to food and cooking. Children will get ideas to use the butter and buttermilk, so nothing goes to waste.
Help kids learn more about foods grown, harvested or produced in Canada.

This is a great way to mix science and food with learning in elementary schools or at home!
